The Scoobix USB Toolkit is a compilation of programs, based off Gentoo Linux, that are geared toward booting off a USB drive. The purpose for such a tool is to enable fast recovery of data from unbootable drives, or offline virus scans, or even security audits. In addition to these features, the Scoobix software can be used as a portable desktop that can be used on almost any PC. If you plan to use Scoobix on a computer that does not support booting off USB, a companion CD was created that allows you to boot the USB drive from the CD.
